Tools Overview
Tools extend your chatbot beyond basic Q&A. Each tool can be enabled or disabled per chatbot in the Tools tab, and most support email notifications to keep you informed.

Additionally, these integration-based tools are configured in the Tools tab:
| Tool | Description | Plan Required |
|---|---|---|
| API Connectors | Call external REST APIs to fetch real-time data during conversations. | Standard+ |
| MCP Servers | Connect external tools via the Model Context Protocol. | Paid plans |
Common Configuration
All tools share these common settings:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable/Disable | Toggle the tool on or off for this chatbot. |
| Email Notifications | Receive email alerts when the tool captures new data (leads, feedback, questions, bookings). |
| Notification Recipients | Comma-separated email addresses for notifications. Adding custom recipients requires a paid plan. |
Best Practices
- Enable only what you need — Active tools that you don't monitor create unresponded events
- Set up email notifications — Don't miss important events like live chat requests or new leads
- Add team recipients — Route notifications to the right people (e.g. sales for leads, support for live chat)
- Review tool dashboards regularly — Each tool has a dedicated dashboard page for managing its data
