Data Privacy & GDPR

WebChatAgent is built with privacy and data protection at its core, fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data Hosting

All data is hosted in Germany (EU). Your chatbot data, conversations, and user information are stored exclusively within the European Union.

Note: When processing chat messages, data is sent to your selected AI provider (e.g. Google Gemini, OpenAI) for generating responses. Additionally, if you have configured API Connectors, data may be sent to the respective external APIs. These third-party services may process data outside the EU depending on their own infrastructure.

Data Processing Agreement (AVV)

A Data Processing Agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag / AVV) is available for all users:

  1. Go to Settings > Data Privacy.
  2. Review the AVV document.
  3. Click Agree to accept the data processing terms.

You can revoke your AVV agreement at any time from the same page.

Data Ownership

  • You own your data — All content, conversations, and chatbot configurations belong to you
  • No third-party sharing — Your data is never shared with third parties, except the AI provider you choose (OpenAI or Google Gemini) for processing chat messages
  • Export available — Download your data at any time

Data Retention

  • Conversations and leads are stored as long as your account is active
  • Deleted chatbots and their data are permanently removed
  • Account deletion removes all associated data permanently

LLM Provider Data

When your chatbot processes a message, the conversation is sent to your selected AI provider (OpenAI or Gemini). Review your provider's data processing terms for details on how they handle this data.

Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, and export your personal data. Contact our support team for any data-related requests.
